Waiting until the chanting of both apprentices' names died down, Ebonystar looked down kindly at Mechapaw. She knew that he didn't feel himself suited to the life of a warrior; with any luck, she could change his mind before the end of his training came about.
But she was getting ahead of herself, wasn't she? There was plenty more to do before then, and worrying about it now wouldn't get her anywhere. Out of the corner of her eye, the leader saw Cyberpaw and Windblade heading out of camp - probably to train.
An excellent idea, Ebonystar thought approvingly, before turning back to her own apprentice. "What do you say to some training, Mechapaw?" she asked, smiling and flicking her tail back and forth calmly. There was nothing more thrilling than an apprentice's first steps toward their warrior ceremony, she mused, and she wanted to make the moment a good one - not overshadowed by the threat of NightClan, nor any other evil.

Mechapaw looked down hastily from the Rock as he saw Ebonystar land infront of him. "Uhh, sure!" he said, trying to sound excited, though also very anxious as to where they would train.

Ebonystar purred in amusement as her apprentice hastily answered her; he sounded nervous, as she was sure she did before her first training session - she couldn't fault him for being a little anxious. After all, not only had he just become an apprentice, but the Clan leader was his mentor.
He would learn though, she was sure, before the end of the lesson that she wouldn't set any higher standards for him than Windblade would for his sister. Likewise, he would be trained at the same level as the rest of LedgeClan's apprentices; just because she had more experience, didn't mean she expected him to be the same right away.
"Don't worry, Mechapaw," Ebonystar soothed, throwing the young tomcat a cheery wink as she turned to go. "Everything will turn out fine - you'll see." Straightening up, the LedgeClan leader pondered a moment on their training area. The Cliffside was far too steep and hazardous for a first training session - and the Sapphire Canyon wasn't much better, unless they went to the very end.
"We'll be training at the Crystal Pool," the she-cat said decisively, nodding as if to affirm her own words. Setting off at a quick trot, Ebonystar glanced back over her shoulder to make sure Mechapaw was following her. "Stay close to me, though; just to be safe."
And with that, she sped up to a slight run, and paced directly out of camp. With any luck, the leader thought, this session would pass without incident. And if luck was not with them...then some unfortunate soul who had caused her apprentice danger would be on the receiving end of something twice as unpleasant.
