Then it hit her. Icewhisker saw that rouge when they had been searching for cover. Even though she only got a glance of the cat, the image had stuck. Before she knew it more than half of Icewhisker's body was out of the den. Seeing this, she quickly moved back.

Earthheart turned away from the rogue, back to the Pit. "Quiet!" She yowled. Looking around, she saw that the clan was beginning to settle down. Good. "Most of you are wondering why I am here and not Snakestar. I have good and bad news about that." She paused, taking a deep breath before continuing. "Snakestar lost his first life." She waited for the yowls and cries of despair to die down. "He has told me we are getting out of here as soon as possible. He will not subject his clan to a life where they die one by one. And I have news about my apprentice, Posionpaw." Earthheart glanced at her apprentice. "She will receive her full name here. When the medicine cats find another moonrock, she will have a full ceremony. Poisonpaw, please step forward."

"What's all this commotion about?" The CreekClan deputy, Shiningstream, strode up from the cement overhang where her kits were resting, and now it seemed like a good time to get back into the habit of being a deputy, trying to help out her leader in the harsh new life they had to endure. But, before she could comment on Snakestar's lost life, another new thought hit her. There was a rogue in the camp? "What's this about a rogue?"

Poisonpaw was just as concerned about the rogue as Shinningstream was, but when she heard Earthheart, a rush of pride and modesty went through her.

When Icewhisker heard that Poisonpaw was going to recieve her full name, she smiled. Hopefully everyone knew that Poisonpaw really did deserve every memory of this moment, because this was her special day. She could not wait to start cheering Poisonpaw's new name.

Jay looked up, grinning madly at Shiningstream, before waving a paw. " Hi!" She meowed quietly, chuckling softly. A movement caught her eye, however, and she turned to look into the Medicine Cat's Den. " I've seen you before." Jay said quietly and calmly to Icewhisker.

Icewhisker had managed to get up onto her paws. When she heard the rouge cat talk to her, she replied, "It is nice to see you again Jay. Is all well living the life of a rouge?" All of a sudden she felt about 6 pairs of cat eyes flash at her, or was it her imagination. There was somewhere else that Icewhisker had seen and/or met the cat. But she was still not so sure. She had probally saw Jay and met the cat on her big journey to the clans. Where else did she meet this cat?

Narrowing her eyes, though not unkindly, towards the rogue, she snapped her head to Icewhisker. "Do you know this tom?" Fixing her pale eyes on the rogue again, Shiningstream wasn't quite sure how she should handle this. Now that Snakestar was still ill with his lost life, it was up to the deputy, herself, to keep the Clan in order. "Last time I checked, unknown cats didn't just come to lounge in another Clan's camp without an explanation," Shiningstream pointed out, a touch of good-humored sarcasm in her voice.

Icewhisker turned to faced Shinningstream. Then she meowed politely, "Shinningstream. That is not how I met this cat. When we were fleeing from the forest I saw him, and I also saw him on my journey down to the forest. I passed by the outside of the city." She then glanced over to Jay to help her get out of this mess.

ooc; Lol, why does everyone think Jay is a tom? Jay is a she-cat,people! " Another cat brought me here. That one." Jay jerked her head in Flickerstep's direction, before turning and gazing straight back at Shiningstream. " And please don't comment that I'm lounging around in your camp. This territory used to belong to a friend of mine, before she dissapeared." Smiling easily, The she-cat continued to watch the Deputy. " This cat is innocent, I saw her too. And I'm not that awful; FireClan didn't seem to think so anyways."

Poisonpaw narrowed her eyes at Jay in concentration. She had seen the cat before, but she couldn't really remember meeting her. She shrugged, knowing that if it was an enemy, the clan would have chased her out long before now.

Shiningstream snorted slightly. Her maternal instincts were scratching at her legs and flanks, urging her to snap a sharp reply and chase out the rogue before she became too cozy. She had to start thinking of her kits, all five of them, trying their best to cope with the harsh conditions and little food. Another cat in the Clan was not what they wanted right now, with fresh kill already short. But then again, another good-humored wave of frustration washed over her. Typical Flickerstep, always looking out adventures. Regaining her composure, Shiningstream coolly, yet firmly, mewed, "What do you want here?"

Earthheart's eyes narrowed as she stared at the rogue. "Fireclan's thoughts have no bearing here." She turned away, toward her apprentice. "Posionpaw, do you promise to uphold the ways of a medicine cat, to stand apart from the rivalries between the Clan, to protect all cats equally, even at the cost of your own life?"

Jay stood to her full height, now with a more serious gaze. " I mean no harm; I do not intend to hurt any of your kin or Clan." She said quietly, eyes glittering. " And I am trying to find out what is going on. Many new cats have arrived; more than I have seen. Yet many of the rogues I know have left. I have heard that you were forced to move because of that." Jay continued to speak softly. " Is this true? Have those who were once my friends driven you from your home?"

Shiningstream quietly went over what would be safe to share with Jay. If she was friends with the rogues that drove them out, how should she know that the she-cat wasn't a spy? Regardless to that, she seemed keenly concerned, even embarrassed, and the deputy couldn't blame her for that. The blue-gray tortoiseshell flicked her tail, excusing herself and Jay from the ceremony. "Come with me," Shiningstream whispered, "I know Snakestar is weak, but I think it would be better if you told this to me and him in private before we announce it to the Clan. I don't want any panic."
