Name: Ebonystar
Rank: Leader
Clan: LedgeClan
Gender: She-cat
Age: 40 moons
Picture (Optional):
Physical Description: A sleek, well-muscled she-cat with a pelt of purest ebony. She has eyes that are a startling emerald green, and a long, slender tail. Her claws are exceptionally long, which was always a very noticeable point during her life as a warrior and deputy. She doesn’t like using them for harm, but she is completely able to when the situation calls for it. The only places on her pelt that are a lighter color are two scars that run the length of her left shoulder, showing her slightly lighter skin. Her lithe appearance can be misleading to her opponents, as she is actually quite strong.
Personality: Ebonystar is a very caring leader, who is always ready and willing to help her Clan mates and friends to solve their problems. She is bold, and isn’t afraid to speak out for her opinions and defend what she believes is right. She will not instigate a battle without a good reason, but she will protect LedgeClan fiercely, even sacrificing her own life, if necessary. She is daring and courageous, and has quite a taste for adventure, although the care and protection of her Clan are now her first priority.
Ebonystar is an excellent hunter and fighter. She takes a level-headed approach to most situations, and appreciates it when her Clan mates do the same. She has a soft spot for kits, and enjoys watching the young cats of LedgeClan at play. She secretly hopes that one day, she will be able to have kits of her own. She thinks of the whole Clan as her family, and attempts to befriend all of them if possible. She is very loyal and devoted to her Clan, the warrior code, and StarClan.
Ebonystar will not murder a cat in cold blood, and despises those who do so. She is determined to rid the forest of such threats, though she will not leave her Clan for long in order to do so.
Ebonystar enjoys occasionally getting away from her responsibilities in camp, and going hunting, alone or with a friend. She also likes simply exploring inside LedgeClan territory, either on land or from the sky.
History: Ebonystar was born to a LedgeClan queen, a black-coated she-cat named Darkestnight. Her father was a vicious rogue, by the name of Shredclaw, who lived in LedgeClan territory until several of the Clan’s strongest warriors were finally able to chase him away. When Ebonystar was born, her mother named her Ebonykit, for the beautiful ebony color of her fur. The kit had two siblings, but they died from Greencough soon after they were born, and their mother became even more protective of her daughter. She did not tell Ebonykit anything of her father’s true identity, fearing that it would be too much for her to bear at such a young age.
Ebonykit was curious about everything, and could often be found outside of the nursery, chasing a butterfly or other insect. Her mother was always nearby, watching over her and challenging any cat that tried to tell Ebonykit about her father’s murderous past.
When she was six moons old, Ebonykit was given the apprentice name of Ebonypaw. She took her training quite seriously, and proved to be a formidable opponent even though she was not yet a warrior. She was loyal to her Clan, but still curious why the rest of the Clan treated her with some suspicion, and even hostility from some cats.
Several moons later, on the day of her warrior ceremony, Ebonypaw’s mother finally told her the truth about her father’s past. Although the apprentice was shaken, she refused to let the truth ruin her excitement, nor her loyalty to LedgeClan. She became a warrior, with the name Ebonyfur.
Ebonyfur fought in many battles, protecting her Clan with her life. When the deputy of the Clan was struck down in battle five moons after her warrior ceremony, she grieved along with the rest of her Clan. She never expected to be named deputy in the noble warrior’s stead, but she was chosen by the Clan leader on that very night.
Though her new responsibilities weighed on her heavily, Ebonyfur remained strong. She helped her Clan to grow and prosper, remaining a steadfast deputy for many moons.
Ebonyfur was not aware of how many lives her leader had lost, until she was told by the leader herself that she was on her last. The information made her deputyship more important to her than ever, and she vowed to take care of the Clan, no matter what happened.
When a fire raged through the forest, the camp was no exception. The LedgeClan leader went back to the burning camp to rescue a kit that had been left behind. She made it through the difficult journey, but she had inhaled too much smoke. As she lay dying, with her Clan around her, she made Ebonyfur promise again to take care of the Clan. Ebonyfur promised, just before the last breath left her leader’s body.
Two days later, she traveled to receive her nine lives from StarClan. When she came back, her new name was Ebonystar, and she has led LedgeClan ever since.
IC: (Flashback) Ebonystar padded through the blackened forest, her head and tail dragging slightly though the leaves that remained on the ground. She was returning from her journey to receive her nine lives from StarClan. The experience had worn away her energy, but she still could not forget what had taken place. She had met with nine cats of StarClan, all from her past, who had granted her the nine lives that would make her a Clan leader.
Tears formed in the new LedgeClan leader’s eyes as she thought back to the ceremony, where her old leader had come to her and told her how proud she was. Just help me to watch over the Clan, she prayed, glancing up at the sky. Wearily, she padded on, and entered the LedgeClan camp.
The Clan, her Clan was waiting for her, and she wouldn’t let them down.
